Noisy Effects
March 6, 2004 (155 Words)

The system I have decided to build will allow users to manipulate a single letter of a typeface, these manipulations are stored as rules and then applied to the entire alphabet producing a .ttf font at the end. The context for this font will be decided later.

I've been playing with a few manipulations, Tickle (Click inside the browser, then type) and Degenerate. These are very early manipulations. I was directed by Iman to ParaNoise. This is right up my street, the software produces similar effects to what I had in mind but without interaction. In a way I'm disappointed it's been done like this, but its inspired me and given me a lot of ideas for newer effects.

For the next step, I'm going to concentrate on building the main engine for opening and saving .ttf fonts, then I can begin to play with effects and have fun with different experiment styles.
