Where to Begin
February 21, 2004 (180 Words)

To begin with I divided my project into simple groups; input, process and output. This way I can work on an area individually and hopefully mix and match ideas of each to create a meaningful project.

  1. Output - I need to set out an idea to achieve with this project, and think what I want to demonstrate or produce.
  2. Process - This is heavily technical and through my research I will aim to find new ways of affecting font data and manipulating a typeface. Because various elements of a letters are reproduced throughout a font, this is a good place to start and discover how i can produce entire fonts using set rules upon elements.
  3. Input - Whether it be physical or digital input, there are many ways I can do this. Digital sensors, Interaction devices or possible data sources that I can feed in as a major process variable.

As I am not 100% sure on the input or output, I can begin to work on the process of which will be the backbone to my project.
